Various Artists, “Yeah, Yeah, No, No, No”
From Clubbo, the massive “music fiction” project (AKA “hoax”) I created
with Elise Malmberg, and a perfect example of how megalomaniacal the
project became. We started with a pretty pop song alleging to be from 1965
(we were only lying by 40-some years). Then we documented its death via
ever-worse cover versions: Wimpy ’70s singer/songwriter. Obnoxious ’80s
dance pop. Putrid TV commercial. This is just one of the dozens of bogus
stories we created. More here.
